Considering that Christmas is in a few days, there is already a lot of love in the air. In fact, it’s easier to enjoy the dreamful atmosphere time of the year and so I thought it’s time to write about a very romantic wedding proposal I organized last may in Castel Porrona - Tuscany.
The beginning
The beginning wasn’t that easy, because I received the request “last minute” and May is already high in season in Tuscany. As location Fabiano asked me a very romantic venue “as romantic as possible”, combined with some leisure services to pass a cozy weekend together with his future bride. Of course, it’s not difficult to find a romantic location in Tuscany, because it’s a region full of castles, hamlets and romantic villas in between rolling hills and green vineyards…. But unfortunately most of the locations where already fully booked.
So, thinking about the possible venues, a new location came to my mind, which I haven’t visited before, but heard already lots of…
The Castel Porrona
I immediately contacted the sales manager Ana Toledo of this breathtaking medieval hamlet and she became quickly enthusiastic to organize the proposal in their five stars relais. So she prepared a personalized proposal for Fabiano and his bride to be. In fact, she was right, when he received the offer of their Executive Suite (the top-suite of the relais), which is characterized by a French-Italian romantic style in red color and a touch of some Moroccan details of “Arabian nights”, together with a dinner in the medieval courtyard of the restaurant and the possibility to use the recently opened new SPA, he couldn’t say no… and his girlfriend…?
The wedding proposal at Castel Porrona
After some organizational aspects, the moment of the wedding proposal arrived: I recommended to Fabiano to have an aperitif with his girlfriend in the new restored wine bar of Castello Banfi, not so far away from the Castel Porrona. In that case, I had enough time to prepare the suite, the terrace and their table in the restaurant. After their return, with the excuse to freshen-up before the dinner, Fabiano brought his girlfriend back to the suite. But from far they could already hear the harmonious music of a romantic song played by a harp. Candle lights, rose petals everywhere and the castle in the background created the perfect frame for Fabiano’s wedding proposal… and of course she answered with “Yes” :)
The soft sound of the harp formed the perfect background of a small romantic walk through the hamlet, then they enjoyed a lovely dinner with a special menu prepared by the Restaurant Il Chiostro, until they went inside their “love nest” which I decorated meanwhile with red roses, candle lights and fine chocolates filled with delicious Brunello-wine…
What should I say more, than there is still a lot of love and romance in the air…
