Lately I have noticed more and more that couples are looking for an alternative style for their wedding: like Manuela and Ralf who organized a cheerful vineyard wedding in Montalcino with a wonderful view on the countryside and an unforgettable wine tasting experience. Discover some more details about the planning of their delightful day.
Already during our first call, Manuela and Ralf told me that they didn’t want a classic, traditional style for their wedding. First, because they are a mature couple and didn’t need too have much effort. Second, because they wanted to enjoy the day and the time with their dear friends and family. During this call they told me more about their story and their life together and gave me some ideas for the planning.
One reference for the planning of their vineyard wedding in Montalcino has been their wedding proposal. Manuela and Ralf are visiting Montalcino often, because they simply felt in love with this small little Tuscan village and so they try to come back every year. When they once came to Montalcino together with their friends and family, they made a break for a picnic in the shadow of an old oak tree during a walk through the Tuscan countryside. It became their point for a break for years. Under the tree, Ralf asked Manuela to become his wife. It was a surprise for everybody. After so many years of living and sharing their life together, nobody of them expected a wedding proposal from Ralf anymore, but at the end, never say never…
First of all I had to find an adequate wine estate for their needs and where Manuela and Ralf could stay overnight together with their guests. It was not difficult neither for me, nor for Manuela and Ralf, because they decided very fast to choose the charming Agriturismo Le Ragnaie. It’s only a few kilometers away from the city center of Montalcino and offers a wonderful view on the vineyards and countryside.
I had to plan the civil ceremony, which wasn’t easy, because the town hall from Montalcino accepted only to hold the wedding in the morning. But as Manuela and Ralf required also a lovely wedding dinner with a view on the vineyards, I had to find a solution for the planning of the whole day:
So we set up the civil wedding ceremony in the town hall of Montalcino in the late morning. Right after the ceremony, Ralf and Manuela enjoyed a cozy aperitif together with their guests at Lisetta’s Cafe – a typical Tuscan Bar-Cafe of Montalcino. Later their guests organized a typical Italian Ape with some funny decoration and balloons, so they both could have a ride through the streets in Montalcino and Diego, the photographer could capture the cheerful moments. After the photo shooting we turned back to the Agriturismo where I together with Cerinella prepared a picnic in the shadow of the trees in the pool area. In this way we had a reference to the wedding proposal and everybody could enjoy that moment. After the picnic and some glasses of wine, two vintage VW-Vans arrived and brought Manuela and Ralf together with their guests to a special Wine Tour. The enjoyed the ride and and had a lot of fun. The direction of the Tour was the winery Caparzo situated in the heart of the vineyards in the northern part of Montalcino. Together with the staff of the estate we organized a private winery visit and a special wine tasting. In this way all the guests became better experts in wine (more or less… ;))
After a cheerful drive back to the Agriturismo, the guests could refresh themselves and then they were welcomed on the terrace of the estate by a simple but elegant decorated dinner table, together with typical Italian music of the singer Paolo Agatensi. It was a perfect conclusion for this wonderful and cheerful vineyard wedding in Montalcino.
