A perfect wine wedding in Dievole

I’ve known Dievole and its wines for some time now. So I decided to visit the estate after their latest renovation works, that finished last winter, and I think many couples would like to organize a wine wedding in Dievole, so I decided to write about my visit...

The villa of Dievole

When you are driving along the road that is bringing you to Dievole, you already feel the typical Tuscan atmosphere: a white road surrounded by cypresses that allows you to enjoy the view on the vineyards and on the countryside of the Chianti Classico. This beautiful scenery will accompany you until you reach the main villa at the end of the road. The rooms of this typical Tuscan Villa of Dievole has an origin in the 18th century and have been completely restored and furnished with small and elegant details. They are equipped in light and bright colors, so you will feel right at home.  Inside the villa the restaurant “Novecento” is located, which is divided in small spaces, where you can find also a room for intimate dinners for two or for small family reunions.

The gardens and the “Scuderie”

If you are choosing this estate for your wedding in Dievole, then you will certainly plan the organization of the wedding reception outdoors. In this case Dievole offers you a lot of small angles and gardens that can be well customized for a wedding party. Especially the “Giardino Il Tasso”. It has a wonderful view on the countryside, so it’s perfect for a ceremony or an aperitif with a view.  In the “Rose garden” you can organize the wedding reception or the party, because there is enough space to set up a cozy wedding dinner or a great dance party, of course surrounded by the rose’s flavors.

In case of bad weather condition you don’t even need to be worried, because inside the “Scuderie” or inside the historic wine cellar you will find a perfect option to organize the plan B.

The Wine Cellar and their wines

A must during your destination wedding in Dievole is the visit of the wine cellar, which is equipped in every detail. Of course, Dievole doesn’t only take care of their vineyards and the respect of the environment, but they also pay a lot of attention to cleanliness – an important requisite of clear and high quality wines. You can already feel the respect and proximity to the nature at the entrance of the wine cellar: in fact entering inside the zone for the vinification process you will discover only concrete tans, in spite of steel tanks. This is an important detail for the nowadays wine production, because using concrete tanks means higher investment for a wine estate and it’s more difficult to handle it than steel, but of course, as concrete is made by natural materials, it gives to the wine better harmony and structure. This harmony and body will be better evolved then also during the aging process inside the oak-barrels and you will be amazed by this part of the cellar, as well.

When you want to taste their wines peacefully and without stress, then you should book the private tasting room of the wine cellar, which is part of Dievole’s wine club, in advance. This private room is really a dream for those who are looking for an intimate winetasting together with friends and of course it may be also a good space to organize a wedding proposal with the wine theme – why not? ;)

During the wine tasting you should not miss to taste all the wines of the Chianti Classico, including the Gran Selezione and “Novecento” – the Riserva of the estate. Moreover you should also taste the other wines from their other estates in Tuscany: from the Rosso and Brunello di Montalcino to the Vermentino in Maremma and the wines from Bolgheri: they have everything what your heart may desire.

Special Guest Favors for your wedding in Dievole

Let’s turn back to the theme “Wedding in Dievole”. If you are planning to get married in this wine estate, you should also consider special favors for your guests. An idea could be a wonderful wine with a personalized label or an elegant bottle of their Extra Virgin Olive Oil. For those who are paying attention about sustainability, during my visit I discovered small art pieces and jewelry by the Italian artist Irma Paulon that I also met personally a month ago.  From waste products of the wineries (like cork, capsules, branches of wines etc.) she is producing jewelry or personalized books and agendas that are completely handmade with love and care. Just visit her website and get inspired by her artwork, but of course don’t forget to enjoy her work with a glass of an elegant wine of Dievole. ;)

At the end, if you want to discover other venues that I selected for weddings just visit the venues page and get inspired for your wedding in Tuscany. Enjoy!
